While We Were Sleeping                       11/5 -11/6/2024

The fight that had begun, ended.
Defeated by lies and propaganda.
Hope was not enough,
more strength was needed.
The race complete.

The public taught by a tabloid media,
seen as the source of education.
Biased in it’s information.
An indoctrination of people who don’t have time to listen or search for another opinion.
Who are we as a nation?
¿Donde estas mi compadres?
Choosing to believe,
causing a surge of ignorance.

How does this help a country?
Our rights are pending.
Frightened.
A disenchanted future.
Failure to thrive.
Decompartmentalize the news.

How can we pick up again after?

Voice our opinion.
Strong women advocates.
Fight for our sister’s and brother’s freedom,
as we anticipate, is dwindling.
Stand together in our unity.
Shore up our responsibility,
bring home a sense of solidarity.

Frustrated

The pit in the bottom of my stomach, the heat on the back of my neck.
If life was easy, we would be stress free.

Driving down the road, rushing here and there. Late or put upon, challenged in some way, pressured by loved ones, work or play.

Our paths are cluttered by obstacles to set free.
The best case scenario is who we can become to be.
Learning to breathe.
